BIO | VIDEO |
THE WIDOWBIRDS were born in late 2010 from a song writing project and calling of heart for long-time brothers in arms Simon Meli and Tony Kvesic. The co-writing pair instantly fell into a world that would see the band share stages with International greats, such as Paul Weller (The Jam/Style Council), Tony Joe White (USA) & Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) at the beginning of the bands journey. Proudly living with the inspirations of classics such as Otis Redding, Frankie Miller & The Band ~ merged with their modern day musical love affairs with The Black Keys, The Black Crowes and everyday riff raff, THE WIDOWBIRDS deliver a deep soulfulness and truth, long missed in today’s music. Their songs are a gritty back-boned rhythm and blues that often takes you down to the river in a sweaty gospel rant, however only first via a very solid and well-formed mystique and texture woven sound. Armed with a dangerous array of live performers, The Widowbirds stand shoulder to shoulder with the best the world has to offer. |
